Happy Days Playschool supports children in learning and developing at an individual pace through play.

Vision

Children who attend Happy Days Playschool experience a positive classroom situation.  They are encouraged to play, experiment, discover and express themselves through arts, crafts and by making friends.

Happy Days will help your child to learn to love learning in a playful way.  Our preschool program is committed to providing for children’s needs in preparation for success in the early years.

Philosophy - Play-based learning

Play nourishes every aspect of children’s development, it forms the foundation of intellectual, social, physical and emotional skills necessary for success in school and in life.

For example, sand and water play and block building lay the foundation for logical mathematical thinking, scientific reasoning, and cognitive problem solving.   Play fosters creativity and flexibility in thinking, there is no right or wrong way to do things. Play presents endless possibiliies - a chair can be a car, a boat, a house or a bed.

Children learn in play by combining their ideas, impressions, and intuitions with experiences and opinions. They create ideas about their world and share them with one another. They establish a culture and a social world with their peers. Play allows children to make sense (and sometimes nonsense) of their experiences and discover the intimacy and joy of friendship. When it is self-directed, it leads to feelings of competence and self-confidence.
